You might be sitting there wondering "What would I wear? Are we going to look awkward in the photos? Should I just snap a couple pictures on my iphone and call it a win?" These are all valid questions, especially when you feel like your constantly changing body and all-time low energy levels are telling you this isn't worth documenting... But I'm here to tell you IT IS! The fact that you're growing an adorable little human is a miracle worth photographing, and trust me, you will love looking back on these. 
&nbsp;
So here are 3 things you can do to feel your best for your maternity photos:
&nbsp;
1. Wear something that makes you feel COMFORTABLE and CONFIDENT
&nbsp;
I'm not saying don't wear the heels (if that's your style) and ditch anything that isn't cotton, but keep in mind that it's much easier to look comfortable when you aren't feeling stiff, itchy, or just plain miserable from the clothes you have on. Try to wear something that shows off the bump and makes you feel like the beautiful woman you are while also keeping you relaxed and comfortable for your session :)

2. Treat yourself before the session
&nbsp;
I don't mean with cake and ice cream (although there is nothing wrong with that and it might even help your belly pop for the photos), but if you can get your hair done, or a nice mani/pedi, or even apply a self tanner beforehand... anything that makes you feel fresh and luxurious for your session will definitely show through in the photos and is sure to make you more confident in front of the camera!

3. Trust your photographer
&nbsp;
Now you should absolutely voice your opinion, especially if your photographer is asking you to do something that you just don't feel comfortable with, or even share your ideas if you have certain poses you want to try. But keep in mind that your photographer is here for YOU, and they will feel the most creative freedom if they know you fully trust their process. They also just might know all the secrets to showing off the belly with the most flattering angles and getting the light just right to really show off that pregnancy glow you've been sporting. 
&nbsp;
Regardless of how you prepare for your session, just be yourself and be comfortable! These pictures are for YOU so find a photographer whose style is exactly what you want and trust the process. Remeber you won't have the baby bump forever so enjoy showing it off for the photos :)

Shelton and I are thrilled to announce that our baby girl is due to arrive this November!! We are so blessed and beyond grateful for this new little life that God has given us and I'm still amazed how I could love someone so much and haven't even met her yet.

I've been itching to photograph a couple at Cape Henlopen State Park since we first moved to Delaware so of course I jumped at the chance when Leanna said she and Aiden wanted to do their engagement session there!
Leanna and Aiden are the absolute sweetest couple and they were down for all of my crazy ideas which always makes me happy. ;) Plus, they are so in love that the pictures couldn't help but come out beautifully showcasing it.

Leanna and Aiden's Engagement Session at Cape Henlopen State Park

Hi Everyone!
&nbsp;
I know it's been way too long since I've written a blog post and updated you guys so here we go!
Shelton and I moved to Dover, Delaware a little over 3 months ago, and are so happy to be on the coast again! We loved our time at Laughlin AFB but are excited for this next chapter with Shelton being a Logistics Readiness Officer
here at Dover AFB.
&nbsp;
So far, life here as been pretty calm and we've somewhat adjusted to the cold weather! hehe
I've applied for my LLC (thankfully, Delaware is one of the easiest states to do that in since there's no sales tax) and I am really looking forward to all of the sessions I'll get to shoot here. There are so many different locations to choose from for a photo session here and so much I haven't seen yet! I've been really inspired by Cape Henlopen State Park and Brecknock County Park recently, they are absolutely beautiful with really nice trails to walk (or bike). The weather is pretty chilly right now so not many people are eager to do an outdoor photo session but when the weather warms up you better believe I'm going to be all over this state with my camera!
&nbsp;
One of the perks to living in Delaware is being within driving distance to some cool places like D.C., Philadelphia, and New York, so we like taking short trips on the weekend. If anyone in New York wants to do a couples photo session, please reach out, I would love to do a shoot there!

It doesn't often snow in Delaware, so when it does I take full advantage of it! My sister-in-law happened to be visiting us along with her German Shepherd so of course we had to include him in the photos as well. :)

I'm a Florida girl, so I don't enjoy cold weather. But there's something about the snow that just makes it worth all the cold.

When Karla first reached out to me a couple months ago, asking about the possibility of doing a family session with their baby boy, I was ecstatic! I always love photographing new parents, there's just something about the joy on their faces as they look down at their new little one. Lake Amistad seems to be my go to place for photo sessions, but this was the first time I chose this specific location (with the help of Shelton as my test subject for the lighting) and I could not be happier with how the photos turned out! This sweet little family was so easy to photograph because of the natural, loving dynamic that they already have together!

WOW... I am so in love with my job!!!
&nbsp;
Not only do I get to meet and photograph the sweetest people on the planet, but one of my absolute favorite parts of being a photographer is that I get to shoot at some pretty awesome locations, in this case, an Air Force hangar right on the flight line! I never imagined I would get to do something this cool as a photographer and I LOVE IT!
&nbsp;
Danielle reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to take some photos for her family with the T-1A to capture this part of their Air Force journey. Of course I couldn't pass up this opportunity. After all, it isn't every day you get to take pictures in a hangar on an Air Force base!

The Allen's session went so well! You could just see how much this family loved being together and getting to photograph them really made my day! The two sweet little children behaved like angels (which for a family session is always a win) and they even brought a friend to help keep the kids's attention and excitement up during the shoot... Such a great idea!

Although their family has been here at Laughlin Air Force Base for a short time and will be leaving soon, it's so special that they wanted a photoshoot to remember this stage of their lives. It truly was an honor for me to be a part of it!

Family Photo Session in a Hangar at Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas

What a beautiful session this was! The University of South Florida is gorgeous at all times of day, but there is something about golden hour that just transforms it into such a calm and peaceful place, unless you're waiting until graduation week to get your pictures taken, then it's a chaotic frenzy of photographers and graduates trying to get their pictures taken in all the right spots! We definitely had to do some quick thinking as lines start forming behind you to get photos in the spot you're in! Although we were slightly rushed, I made sure Delaney had all the pictures that she wanted plus many more. She was so amazing and didn't hesitate to try whatever I threw at her!
